Our company deals with the production of the Czech speciality, classic spa
wafers. This family company was founded in 1994 and began to produce three
brands of wafers in limited amounts for a small circle of costumers. Soon
it became well-known and popular for the quality of its products. With
increasing demand the number of employees was raised. Today the company
distributes its products all over the Czech Republic and especially in the
cities visited by foreign turists, for whom the wafers are traditional
presents for their friends at home. The company now produces seven brands
of wafers - the classic wafers poured with nuts and sugar (traditional
since 1856) and the wafers filled with whipped butter, sugar, cocoa with
various flavours.
The pattern for the company's production was found in The Cookery Book from
1869. In chapter XXIV with title "The biscuits" there was described how to
make filled (so called Karlsbad) wafers: "These wafers are especially good
for ill people, since they are nutritious. They are not overbunden stomach
and the people like them."
The wafers were first produced in the city of Karlsbad and got their name
after that. They were sold there hot just from the oven and many Czech and
foreign celebrities of the political and cultural world appreciated their
lightness, fragility and delicious aroma. That is what we reccomend our
costumers when they buy traditional nut wafers: to warm them up a little
in the microwave oven. This hot wafers have got delicious aroma and taste
which is hard to describe.
We have exported our products several times abroad, especially to Austria
and Germany where the wafers are very popular. The company is very flexible
and is able to meet any customer's requirements concerning flavours.
At present the company co-operates with a company from Arkansas, U.S.A. and
with a Canadian company from Richmond in the sphere of know-how.
